Ade-Ife Party

I had the honor to celebrate with Iyalorisa Ade-Ife, Priestess of Oshun. She and her daughter Kemi are moving to Salvador, Bahia. I look forward to the day that I will be able to be there with her and study. Bahia is one of my favorite places in the world.

My long-term goal is for my husband and I to live there at least three month out of the year. I plan to facilitate healing retreats for women. I can see us now under the beautiful moon light on the beach… ahhhh…..

Moon Circles

I recently began facilitating new moon circles for women. Each time I am amazed by the power of women coming together in love to support each other. My role in these circles is to create and hold the space. To nug and guide, to allow each woman to feel at ease and centered. I am always awed by the beauty of the altar we co-create and the wise-woman power that comes forth. Each time I learn something new and expand my ability to be in union with the Divine and my community.

The last one was focused on the womb healing of a sister that had been experiencing miscarriages. At this circle, there were several things that stood out for me. One was the diversity of women she called into circle. There were women of Asian, African, Europeon, and mixed cultural descent. There were women in their 20s to 60s, new mothers and grandmothers and yet-to-be mothers. Another thing that moved me was the willingness of each to come together from their various spiritual practices. In this circle we were lead in a song to the African Goddess/ Orisa Yemaya by a Asian woman. In other cirlces, with images Yemaya, Oshun and Ogun on the altar, I’ve had a born-again Christian hold a Native American talking stick. Everything from Old Testament scriptures to passages from Louise Hays You Can Heal Your Life were read. It’s a beautiful thing to be witness too.

I look forward to seeing what the divine Mother has in store for me and those who join me in circle. I know that it is glorious in deed.

A Healing Place

Vacation has been on my mind. All I can think about is chilling by the water. In an ancient city – Salvador, Bahia Brazil or maybe somewhere in Peru. Sipping dark red wine, and eating cool fruit. Reading a novel about another old place; filled with magically enchanted creatures. Orishas, vampires, spirits of days past. I’m longing for a new, old experience.

I see myself refreshed and bathe in the shadows of the sun. Ready to begin a new practice of healing. Restored to self. Enabled to practice the ancient rituals of women in circle. Centered. Aligned. Attuned. Focused. Calm.

Returned to myself. Flowing in the stream of consciousness that is fully alive and connected to source. Amber, patchouli, sandalwood, Oshun, Yemaya, Olokun. My mind is on ancient healing. So, here is my plan. I will create this place here and now, right where I am. And, I will draw to me all that is needed for me to travel to Brazil. I will experience the pleasure both now and later. I will radiate the vibration of receiving and flow in the energy on knowing that it is already done. I am the calm deep water.

Vibrational Alignment

Recently I began listening the Abraham Hicks recordings. Abraham often talks about vibrational alignment, which is a concept that is near and dear to my heart. The term Ori Ire is a Yoruba concept that means “one’s who life (head) is aligned with their destiny” In a book entitled “Counseling Persons of African Decent” Black Psychologist and author Thomas Anthony Parham says ” Ori Ire is the quest of one’s actions, thoughts, and feelings to operate in accord with one’s destiny while being aligned with good character, humility, and respect for eldership. When Ori Ire is directing one’s actions, the body and soul is in harmony and spiritually connected to a higher consciousness. This is evident when a person’s understanding of knowledge continuously transcends into wisdom. The greater the alignment that exists between one’s onipa & ori ire, the more efficiently the onipa will successfully navigate through stages of spiritual and physical maturity.”

So, how do we use this ancient African idea of Ori Ire in our daily lives. One way is slow down and begin listening to your inner voice. My inner-self had been telling me to begin writing a blog. I had started one on my website, but found I had overcomplicated the process. By making a simple shift to using this tool (Blogger), I have in less than 30-minutes created a blog page, and post that I’d been wanting to do for years.

This post represents my own vibrational alignment. Ashe.
